Also Philly, Kingston, the New York shows (performing Harrison's Something) and basicly without doubt, the whole freakin tour! (thefinger)

that should be murdering.....................

Well it's not handy right now but I can surely look it up if you haven't heard it Billy. Since I heard it I'm thinking about Something in terms of this performance and not Harrison's. Indeed hauntingly murdering.

So, as a tyro, where can we get these concerts from?

As I'm the worst in terms of postal services, I happily torrent any of the shows I might have or which I mentioned.

For 2002, after the Europe tour there is (1) the August tour starting in the northeast and ending in the mountain west and (2) the fall tour starting in the northwest and ending on the east coast. I'd nominate:

August 4, 2002 – Augusta, Maine [Excellent sound and setlist, including Hummingbird, The Man in Me, If You See Her Say Hello, Tombstone Blues, Tears of Rage, and Never Gonna’ Be the Same Again. If You See Her is destroyed by early iteration of upsinging, but the best version of Floater I’ve ever heard is just nailed a few songs later]

September 1, 2002 – Aspen, Colorado [Last Bob-on-guitar show. Last ever Duncan and Brady; last ever This World Can’t Stand Long; last ever Subterranean Homesick Blues (except one in 2003 with Grateful Dead); one of only 7 Quinn the Eskimo]

November 9, 2002 – Elmira, New York (LB-2902)

November 22, 2002 - Fairfax, Virginia [Charlie's last show; smoking Summer Days, anthemic Blowin']

I'm biased as it was MY first show, but the night after Manchester the Birmingham show had a blindingly lovely Tomorrow Is A Long Time...and You're A Big Girl Now with changed lyrics.

But anyway that's the spring...yes, Red Bluff is a must. And New York with Yea Heavy.

I think that's 2002 sorted.
no surprises really.
Thanks everyone for input.

1998, Stockholm, fuckin Globe Arena I guess...

...but I never have seen the light on that show. I heard it, listened it several times but just can't get into that famous night. But I know the problem is based on my side so just check it out cause the majority would pick this show from the '98 EU lot.

1998 is a hard one, because there are a lot of extraordinary shows and recordings. Here are my choices:

"Madison Square Garden," Madison Square Garden Theater, New York, NY, January 21, 1998 (Crystal Cat)

January 30, 1998 – C.W. Post Coll., Brookville, New York (Clete & Fed) (LB-5188)

"A Knife, A Fork, A Bottle, A Cork," Savage Hall, Toledo, Ohio, February 15, 1998 (Junkyard Angel)

February 20, 1998 – Viking Hall, Bristol, Tennessee [devastating Sweet Marie]

March 30, 1998 – Miami Beach, Florida (Schubert rem.) (LB-3486)

"Splendor in the Gorge," Gorge Amphit., George, Washington, May 16, 1998 (fan cdr, great bonus tracks)

May 21, 1998, Pauley Pavilion, Los Angeles, California [Restless Farewell, and officially released Make You Feel My Love]

June 17, 1998 – Vorst Nationaal, Brussels, Belgium (Zimmy 21) (LB-4319) [extraordinary recording!, with great Mama You Been On My Mind; a wonderful License To Kill (first since Nov. 3, 1995) and a great Tears of Rage and Forever Young]

"Down Under the Lounge," The Lounge, Melbourne, Australia, August 19, 1998 (Dandelion)

September 26, 1998 – Shoreline Amphit., Mountain View, California (LB-2489)

November 5, 1998 – Cole Field House, College Park, MD (Bobby Bourbon) (LB-5149) [awesome pairing of Blind Willie McTell and Every Grain Of Sand mid-show]

I could easily add another five, especially from that June-July Europe run which I shorted here because it's so well known.
