how do you get out of this hell
stuck inside of a lexicon
with the roget's thesaurus blues again-

it would be very hard to top that 4:37 minutes of cleverness--

but after seeing the footage of the infamous taxi ride,
I can't seem to laugh, conscience easy, with Lennon (when it comes to Dylan)

looks like someone has done an inordinate amount of research..

edited to add an excerpt from this, uh, Annotated, Researched, Indexed, Culled, Etcetera-ed list:

"Well it ain't from Mad Grooves (a collection of songs from MAD MAGAZINE albums and vinyl cutouts). 1996. Original in 1965. Borderline-- its more a satire of Folk Protest. And not a good one at that. NF. Liner notes say its a Bob Dylan satire, and brag that its one of the earliest. I say its not a Bob Dylan satire. How to determine this? Lets ask a Bob Dylan Satire Expert. Hmmm, thats probably me. So that settles it, its NOT a Bob Dylan Satire."

(very kind of you, J
I understood you were kidding but was embarrassed to have put my foot in my mouth again.)

I don't remember hearing this, much less posting about it..
but The List made me look it up.
(retroactive thanks, wm..)

I've only found/heard 2 of the 7 songs (so far)
because Kevin Ryan's delightful endeavor was chased off the internet by the Corporate Grinch of Seuss- (no, I still don't know how to torrent)

it's a shame.
I imagine Dylan and Dr Seuss ? Robert Zimmerman and Theodor Geisel would've loved them.

the innocence of Dr Seuss' wacky, joyful lyrics softens any label of "parody" into tribute-
endearing tribute.

Dr Seuss is already in "funny" rhythm (scansion stuff.. poetic feet)- i.e. already music-
Ryan keeps going- adds harmonica. The Garth Hudson Organ. hilariously painstaking diction and phrasing..
Green Eggs and Band!
The Ballad of Gertrude McFuzz!

there's something inspired about the wild pairing that makes it more than lucky accident.

in the most lighthearted way, Ryan takes himself out of the way
and gets a whisper of an undercurrent, a faint echo, humming between Dylan and Dr Seuss.

the surreal power of two artists' imaginations brought together by an inspired clown-
fun.

thanks, Kevin Ryan, wherever you are !

Saw that last night. The kid does a good impression, it reminded me of Bob imitating Woody. I hope it takes him somewhere beyond being a Bob impersonator.
